Florida Architectural Project Photographers - Flagler College Ponce Hall Restoration

Flagler College in St. Augustine, Florida, hired SSS Studio to photograph the recent renovations to the famous Ponce de Leon Hall student residences. As an Alumni of Flagler College, it is an honor to return to campus to photograph projects and a real treat to see the improved student housing before the students return for the fall 2023 semester.

In 1888, Flagler built the Hotel Ponce de León, his first in a series of luxury resorts along Florida’s east coast. A masterpiece of Spanish Renaissance architecture and the first significant poured-in-place concrete building in the United States is now known as Ponce de Leon Hall. A National Historic Landmark, it serves as the centerpiece for Flagler College.

Below are a few images we created inside the newly remodeled student living area that includes bright rooms and study areas in nooks and retains some of the incredible architectural elements of this famous historical building.

As an architectural photographer, I work with builders, contractors, architects, and designers to capture the essence of design and build projects all over the Southeast. However, this was particularly fun as an alumnus of Flagler College and a St. Augustine resident.
